CROWN NIPS CASA ELETTRICA TO STAY ALIVE, 92-87

Crown Pipes just made the race to the Final Four a little bit more interesting by turning back Casa Elettrica and grab their 2nd win in 5 tries, 92-87.

With one more game left versus idle Multiline this coming Saturday, Crown is hoping to barge in the playoff round with a win that will push them to a 3-3 record and at least a three-way tie for the fourth spot in the playoffs.

Kelvin De Chavez regained his old form just in time for Crown’s push into the playoffs, scoring a game-high 30 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists to lead Crown to the W. Richard Chua played a splendid game, playing a nifty inside game all throughout the contest to score 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor. Chua also grabbed 10 rebounds. The big plays also came from Rudy Beltran, playing in his first appearance for Crown. Beltran set the tone early and finished with a flourish to bag 14 points and 3 rebounds.

Mark Soriquez, Albert Virgo and Joseph Aral provided the backbone in Crown’s balanced salvo, with the three playing big minutes to stabilize the team output. Soriquez netted 11 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and compiled 8 steals while quarterbacking his squad. Virgo played a brilliant all-around game, getting 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. Aral went for 10 points and 7 rebounds to round up Crown’s balanced attack.

Casa Elettrica got big contributions from Pankoy Santaromana and Kenneth Trinidad, with Santaromana going for 25 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, while Trinidad got 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Reniel De Castro chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists while Kenneth Uy registered a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
